The gluten free flour is a great substitute for all purpose wheat flour for most recipesThe gluten free flour is a great substitute for all purpose wheat flour for most recipes. Cookies work fine, I add a bit of almond flour for taste however other baked goods are good but the texture is not the same as all purpose flour we are used to. Its not bad but do not expect your baked goods to be the same. And don't recommend using gluten free for dumplings....mine turned to mush. Its still gluten free and that's a very good thing. Worth trying.5Best gluten free blendI've tried a few different gluten free flor blends and this is by far the best one. I tried a chickpea flour blend and the taste wasn't a favorite for me in baking treats. I'll use it for savory cooking just fine. But the 1 to 1 is the only thing I'll use for baking now.5Bag arrived split opened. Was cross contaminated and became illBox arrived in tact, but padding was very minimal inside and bag of flour was split open. Unfortunately after 5 days of being sick I release the opened bag was cross contaminated. They do don t accept returns for their product u was wasted $48 for the flour and one day shipping on top of being very ill. When I saw the excellent reviews for this, I thought I would give it a try. I've made a couple of recipes from the package (including several rounds of the blueberry muffins!), and they've turned out wonderfully. If I didn't know they were GF, I would have thought they were made with white flour. I also use this as a substitute in my favorite pancake recipe every weekend, and my family raves about how good they are. For those of us who can't have dairy, it's nice to see that this blend is also labeled dairy free.5The Best Gluten Free Flour on The Market!I like this flour because it is much like regular flour. You meansure it the same and a cup of regular or wheat flour is a cup of Bob's Red Mill flour. Measuring is the same you do not have to change anything about the recipe. The flavor is the same and I think the texture of your baking is very close to the regular flour. I have made many batches of cornbread and family cannot tell the difference in the Gluten free batch and the regular flour batch. It has become a joke and fun game it see if my sons can tell which is which!! I bake cookies, cakes ,muffins and sheet cake desserts and the boys cannot tell the difference.5but always so disappointed in the resultsOne thing my girls and I truly missed about the gluten free lifestyle was baking. We might add some additional salt or sugar, but the same goodies we are known for are now created in our kitchen once more. My husband, who can usually detect GF immediately, hasn't complained either.Chocolate chip cookies are a bit crumbly, but that's a small price to pay for GI equilibrium. Our from scratch brownies, cakes, etc., taste incredible. And most people can't tell the difference. Waffles, pancakes taste incredible too.Bob's Red Mill GF flour is an amazing substitution for the fully leaded gluten filled flours.5The only gluten free flour I have found that can almost replace real wheat flour.This is really great flour. My daughter-in-law has a allergies to wheat, corn and potatoes. When my son first married her, it took us a while to adjust to cooking for her. She had just gotten an official diagnosis and was depressed and sad that she would never be able to have any baked goods again, which shes loves. I really felt for her, being on a salt free diet myself because of my blood pressure, and I really love salt. So, I started buying every gluten free flour product I saw. I seldom went shopping that I did not raid the gluten free department of ever flour they had. I would take and arm load of gluten free flours to my daughter-in-laws and say, "Here are some more flours for you to try. Get to baking!". She would laugh and say, "How much do I owe you for these?". I would laugh say, "You just owe me a smile and keep me supplied with delicious baked goods".Well, I am sad to say that 90% of the gluten free flours we tried failed miserably. A few did okay. But this one was the one that stood out. My daughter-in-law has baked some stuff that you could not tell was not made with real wheat flour. Have bought her about 30lbs of it so far and she has become a pretty good little baker. She is now happy and has started helping other people that have discovered the allergies to wheat and are depressed like she was. She loves showing them that just because they have wheat allergies does not mean they can never have good baked goods again.5A pantry staple for usWe have used this a couple of times now. Admittedly, we are only about a month to a month and a half into this "new" way of baking, but there IS a big difference in quality, people, with the various flours. I am still experimenting with this and several other brands/blends. Authentic Foods extra fine flours have a less gritty taste to their baked products, in my opinion, but this is a good baking flour.4
