Very good tapioca flour.Very good tapioca flour with fine ground and highly consistent. While I could not find in the package anywhere, I was able to find out via my communications with Bob's Red Mill customer service representative that this is from tapioca grown in Thailand and is Non-GMO, even though the boxes don't state that - I hope this info helps. 5Buy it on price on sale; all brands seem to be good qualityI've tried several of these and can see no difference; all the brands available seem to be good quality and work well.Bob's makes consistently good products that are generally reasonable in price compared to others. If you are baking GF breads with Bette Hagman's fabulous book, you will use a lot of this. I've been baking GF for almost 2 years and just discovered her book. Her 4 Flour Bean mix uses 8 cups of this for a large batch, which makes 8-10 medium loaves; 8 cups is about 2 bags.On the other hand, if you are a fan of Nicole Hunn's recipes, you'll likely use less. I haven't seen her new book, though; it may lean more on tapioca starch than her first books and blog do.So have your recipes to hand if possible and consider what you expect to use so you can buy in bulk if needed and save money. 4More Then I Could Ever Use. Great Alt Thickener.Ok, 25lbs is a huge bag! But thats on me, i did not know it was going to be that big. I probably wont be able to use it all, but for the price, its an amazing deal. Consistency, quality and useability all exceed expectations. Check out the pic for a size comparison. I have used this flour with great success as a thickener and in gluten free baking. 4Perfect for allergen free breadsVery good product. Much cheaper to buy on Amazon than my local grocery store if you use it frequently. I am a nursing mom of a baby with many food allergies, so this product is perfect to making homemade breads that are safe for us to eat. Our favorite is a dairy and gluten free sandwich bread. 5Excellent quality from Bob's every time.....First of all... you can't go wrong with Bob's Red Mill. Their products are top notch and I can always find good prices on amazon. I have purchased many products from them and have always been highly satisfied with what I have received. I too use this for Paleo baking/cooking. It makes food have a springy texture and also promotes browning and crispiness. I also use for thickening soups, sauces, and dips. I agree with another reviewer that the 4 pack is a better deal but I just purchased one because I couldn t see myself ever using four bags of this at a time. Highly recommend. 5Gluten free Tapioca flour - so good!Bob's Red Mill does it again with this tapioca flour. I bought this stuff to make Brazilian Cheese Puffs. I was a little uncertain as to the characteristics of the flour and how it would react to my unenlightened hands [never used tapioca flour for bread before] and techniques. However, the product turned out exactly like the description and my Brazilian company seemed quite pleased.One thing I learned about this product though, having made a total of 4 batches is that you should only mix the dough until it is fully blended, and don't knead the dough like you would with wheat flour. This of course makes sense as a gluten-free flour since you aren't trying to develop the gluten.The only thing that I wish Bob's Red Mill would do with their products is to put a reseal on their package. If you aren't using a full container each time, you need to find some way to store it away from moisture. That means locating a canning quart or something to store it in. Just a ziplock kind of closure would be so nice. 5Perfect for making vegan cheese.My family and I all eat a healthy plant based diet, and throughout the years I have learned a lot of cool ways to make vegan cheeses. A few of the recipes I came across called for using Tapioca flour in them. After (unsuccessfully) searching high and low for it, locally, I was happy to find it on here. They say that adding the Tapioca flour (to your cheese) will make it a lot more stretchy and meltable.You'll get a fairly good sized package of the Tapioca flour. The amount called for in my recipe wasn't all that much, so I forsee this lasting me quite a long time. This, for me, helps keeps the cost inexpensive and worth purchasing. Tapioca flour is a gluten free product, so you could also use this as a regular flour alternative for baking; however, I haven't tried that yet. It was easy to work with and I'm happy to have found it. It seems to be of good quality and is from a brand I know and trust. 5Best Source of Tapioca StarchBob's Red Mill Tapioca Flour is the best, more reliable tapioca starch (a.k.a. "flour") I've used. It works well when added to an ice cream base to stabilize the end result and when added to fruit pies as a thickener. It doesn't add a noticeable flavor. It worked like a charm!! 5Good product in a GREAT Package!If you have ever used tapioca starch you know it is pretty much impossible to use it without making a powdery mess, especially when trying to reclose a package. The packing Bob Red Mill's has created is a huge improvement - it is heavy-duty with plenty of room between the top of the product and the top of the package. It is a full-seal top that is more like a bit of velcro than a ziplock. It seals easily without a powdery mess flying out.The tapioca starch itself is great - nice, fine consistent texture that does the job. 5
