Customer Reviews

Smaller than I thought....I suppose that the product "is" what is advertised, but I was expecting lager pellets. These are quite small, so just know that going in. If you have pictus cats for instance, you are going to be disappointed in these wafers. They are pretty small and therefor the fish do not get to break them up and "play" with them before consuming like they do with the larger size wafers. That said, everyone seems to be eating them alright.4Messy if uneaten.I'm really not fond of these, any of it that my fish don't eat, just turns into a huge mess, they deteriorate over night and become a powder over my gravel that ends up not getting eaten, last time I used it they became the breeding ground of some wierd hair algae, it only grew where the food had deteriorated, just two days with it in there and I had a huge mess to clean up.So ultimately, if you can figure out how much your fish will eat, then it's great, they loved it, I just don't like the idea of feeding them less than they want, which eventually causes a problem for me.How could it be better? I honestly don't know... If they could find a way to keep it in pellet form while not adding harmful additives, that would probably do it, but that sounds hard, so I really can't think of much.As an after thought, if you have a bare bottom tank, this is probably just fine for you!3ExpensiveMy cory cats seem to like these. The reason for less than 5 stars is because it seems expensive to me. To me this is a very small package 4 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches wide (less if you account for the sealed edges and folding on the bottom of the package)..The package lists the contents as .88 oz (25g).If you have a small tank and feed each 4 o4 5 fish - say only 1 or 2 wafers a day, the price can be justified. For a larger community of fish, you may find this product pricy.3Cory cat likes itI have two cory cats that are difficult to feed. I am feeding them with flakes so I wasn't sure how they were going to like the wafers. Also, the wafers are very small, which i think is a very good size for my cory. Yesterday, I dropped 4 wafers with some flakes to make sure the cory know the wafers are also food.Like I suspected, they didn't pay attention to the wafers at first, but once they got a taste of it. They seemed to like it! Four was too much for them. It was taking minutes for them to finish just one. As long as my cory likes it, I like it.4Great sinking wafers that won't turn your tank green! My algae eaters LOVE this food. They don't discolor the water like other algae wafers. These wafers are small but get bigger once it is saturated with water. This brand definitely makes great products as my tropical fish love their pellet food!5Corydoras & SnailsI suspect they like them... I do not see them eating as they are nocturnal bottom dwellers, but the food is always thoroughly cleaned up the next morning from these otherwise very slow eaters.I also provide sinking shrimp pellets from Omega One (AVOID WARDLEY! They pollute the tank badly) as well as New Life Spectrum Sinking pellets, and Algae Wafers from the same maker. I break up the (large) Algae Wafers into a few pieces so that all of my fish have a chance, as my apple snail will totally bear(snail?)hug one and not share otherwise.Very highly recommended, noticed a huge improvement in the behavior of my catfish once I realised they were carnivorous and needed the proper food.5Fresh smell! Everyone loves itLove it!! Just came in the mail today but I can already tell this is great quality. As soon as I opened the package I could smell fresh veggies! I believe it s the seaweed. The Corydoras found the wafers immediately. So did the shrimp! I wasn t expecting that one but the ghost shrimp went up to the cories and ran off with the wafers haha. So cute. My Dalmatian molly, Cookie, loves the wafers too. She likes to nibble on them every time she swims by. Fish are happy and so am I!5Another Hikari food my fish are crazy for!We have a couple of Twig Catfish who have been fussy eaters since we got them refusing wafers from several different brands totally acting like snobby organic algae purists when my tank just doesn't have much algae to offer their voracious appetites, it's so frustrating having tablet after tablet sit untouched while plants and other supplemental veggies got nibbled a bit til we got these Hikari wafers. The Twigs LOVE them, it was really shocking to see the frenzy it caused when they discovered these new wafers. I don't know what the difference is in flavor, ingredient, or production but these appear to soften much quicker than other brands, but whatever the cause I am very relieved and happy to finally see them feeding properly.5Great!These are great. I was feeding my mature Chinese algae eater and Cory catfish algae wafers. Then I found out that they are omnivores and don't even eat algae! My bottom feeders love these now. I also like how small they are. I was breaking the algae wafers in half because they were so big. These are about the size of a thumbtack head. I drop two or three in every night.5bristlenose pleco was pretty excited to get them5pm, bristlenose pleco was pretty excited to get them. Came out of hiding for a nibble. Rated 4 out 5 only because I'm not thrilled about the list of ingredients.First 10 ingredientsFish meal, Wheat germ meal, soybean meal, wheat flour, whole crushed silkworm pupae, dried seaweed meal, dried bakery product, brewer's dried yeast, fish oil, krill meal, etc.Wheat germ, wheat flour, dried bakery product are one ingredient separated into 3 separate names to avoid having flour listed as the first ingredient.3.88oz for $6.50 I'd have expected better ingredients.4
