Customer Reviews

Love this handy stuff! After the many complaining reviews I had expected to have more of a hassle with this, but it's super! I keep it in a coolish, dark place. A few days before I want it I take out a packet and knead it till it's a smooth liquid and just lay it out flat for a day or so in my air conditioned room till I want some. By then... (you could speed this up by just popping it into the fridge for a little while) it's become almost solid...thicker than toothpaste... and if I just clip a corner off the packet I can squeeze out how ever much I need and I'm all set!I eat this plain when I'm hungry and wanting something sweet. This gives me a healthy fat, protein, all the good things in coconut AND curbs my (sometimes voracious) sweet tooth to boot!I imagine if you were going to use this in cooking it would be a great consistency just after kneading smooth and pouring out what you need too! Great stuff!5Only the good stuff!Very tasty, no fillers or additives & extremely easy to use in every recipe I've tried the creamed coconut in. I've made veggie curry, butter chicken, whipped cream & a cheesecake with Let's Do Organic creamed coconut. This coconut is NOT coconut milk. It's the thick layer on top of the can of coconut we all want when making recipes that call for that thick, refrigerated layer. The taste is very creamy & smooth just as it is in canned varieties. I purchased this package because there are ZERO additives as there are in many canned brands. This package contains 6 individual 7oz boxes. when I say "box", think lunch box juice box carton size, only slightly larger). The package is somewhat difficult to open so I used scissors to cut the top off. Once open, I added the cream directly to my recipes or added to a bowl & using an electric mixer, whipped it until light & fluffy before adding a bit of vanilla & monk fruit in the raw to make dairy free whipped cream.I'm a fan & that fact that this package stores so well & stays fresh for so long is a bonus to the flavor & smooth consistency. I will definitely be purchasing this product again.5Basically a slightly gritty coconut butter/mannaThis is basically just coconut butter or coconut manna. It tastes good, but it isn't the best that I have ever tried. I prefer Nutiva organic coconut manna. However, I usually make mine at home by pureeing shredded coconut in my high powered blender. Mine also comes out creamier than this. This is a little bit gritty and has added coconut oil that can separate. I got mine in January when it is very cold here, so it was solid and hard and the coconut oil had risen to the top. I was surprised by how hard it was because mine doesn't get as solid even when it is cold. After the package was warmed, it was fairly easy to massage it to combine it by hand. It is more trouble than it is worth, so I won't be purchasing this again. The expiration date is July of 2019.4Creamy & deliciousVery creamy coconut base. We squeezed one package to blend it and then put in the fridge to firm it up. Then we cut it in chunks and kept it in a container in fridge to use for smoothies. It's a frickin delicious addition to anything!!!5Great creamed coconut; NOT the same as coconut milkThe folks giving bad reviews on this product don't seem to understand that creamed coconut is not the same as condensed coconut milk. It contains coconut-meat solids and is pulpier/thicker, and will not taste like coconut milk by thinning it out with water. What you get: inside the green box you see in the picture is a plastic-wrapped block of creamed coconut. Unless your house is very warm, it will be rock-hard. I fill a bowl with hot tap water and immerse the entire package, then knead it with my fingers after a few minutes. Repeat a couple of times, then snip the package open and pour/squeeze it out like toothpaste for use in cooking. If you don't use the entire package all at once it will resolidify; that's not because there's anything "wrong" with it, that's just what real coconut cream does. That's why I love these little packages, as opposed to the 16-oz jars of other brands that they sell at Whole Foods Market.5This is really coconut butter. Mine came separated. It's acutally a five star product.I originally bought, and loved, another organic, creamed coconut product. When I went to repurchase it, I saw the Let's Do Organic Coconut product. When I saw how much cheaper it is, I read the reviews. The price difference was significant--three 7oz boxes of the other was $15, while six 7oz boxes of the Let's Do Organic is $14.34. For people who knew what they were ordering (this is really a coconut butter), they were great. So, I decided to try it.I do a low carb diet. The carbs in the Let's Do Coconut Organic Creamed Coconut are negligible for what you're getting--an ounce has 2 grams of carbohydrate and five grams of fiber. I pair it with a square of 88% chocolate and it's a wonderful, low carb dessert. For someone who's done low carb for twenty years, it's positively decadent. My first taste of the Let's Do Coconut Organic Creamed Coconut was disappointing. It seemed like straight coconut oil. Guess what, it was! Originally, I didn't notice that it wasn't emulsified. It must have been "mistreated" in the warehouse. The oil separated from the pulverized "meat." When I checked it in the light of day, you could clearly see that the two had separated. Coconut oil is solid at 74-76 degrees. The warehouse must have been too warm and the product melted. When it resolidified, the oil rose to the top. When I got to the meat, it was just as delicious as the more expensive brand. When I got to my second box, I cut off the oil and used it in my morning coffee. It was fine. By the third box, I got smarter. I put the vacuum packed coconut cream in warm water and emulsified it. A few minutes in the refrigerator solidified it. Now, I can eat the whole bag, an ounce at a time, and have it be perfect. Happy that I can continue to buy this lower priced, but not lower quality, brand. Hope it comes right the next time:)This product is really what some people refer to as coconut butter. It's much less expensive, and easier to use, packaged this way. Anywhere from 50-75% less then the jar varieties, depending on which one you buy.The only reason I gave it four stars, instead of five, is that it came separated. Since it's fufilled by Amazon, I'm not sure this is fair. This was a personal purchase. I paid full price.4Simple organic creamed coconutI've been using this product for years because it is exactly as advertised. Simple, creamed coconut with no additives. This is a product for people (like me) who are wary about what food manufacturers put in products to improve shelf life or change texture, taste, etc. It tastes like coconut, is solid at room temperature or below and separates (like I would expect of any unmodified nut butter). Most of the negative reviews are because of some combination of solidity, separation, or fine coconut particles. Changing any of these attributes requires some combination of chemical processing, non-coconut additives, or extreme temperature and / or mechanical filtration, all of which change (generally degrade) nutritional quality.5Chef's perfect product for Coconut Milk, Coconut Cream and Coconut Flour!I NEVER write reviews, but I love this stuff so much, and I thought I could help others out by describing how I use it. This is so much better than canned coconut milk and definitely better than the boxed coconut milk by So Delicious. One 7 oz package makes 1 quart of coconut milk or 1 pint of coconut cream, plus about 1/4 cup of coconut flour.I add the package to my blender along with a quart (or pint for cream) of boiling water and blend away. Then I strain it through a chinois (cheesecloth will also work) while it is still hot to remove the coconut flour. Sometimes I will add an extra tablespoon or two of coconut oil before blending to make it extra creamy.I hate wasting anything, so I use the solids strained out of the coconut milk for coconut flour. I just spread the coconut solids out on a baking sheet and dehydrate at 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 hours. Voila! Coconut flour! Use 1/3 c coconut flour plus 1 egg to substitute 1 cup of all purpose flour in baking recipes.EDIT 3/8/2018Still love this stuff and have found even more uses! The cream makes great coffee creamer, and I've even made coconut yogurt with it by adding milk kefir grains overnight once cooled. Probiotic, creamy coconut deliciousness!5Excellent taste and nutritional valueThe Taste is delicious. The nutritional value is excellent. It comes in a small hard plastic wrapped cube which is not the most usable form. Here is what I do: put the plastic bag in a bowl of warm water until the coconut softens. Then mush it all around to blend in any coconut oil that has separated. Next squeeze it out onto a plate to form a thin layer and chill it. Once it is solid, chop it up in small pieces and put it in a container in the fridge. Whenever you want to add delicious coconut flavor, pull out a scoop of the small chunks. It's great sprinkled on salads, and smoothies, and added to sauces. They're all so great just to nibble on.5Heavenly organic coconut butter in a convenient, sterile vacuum-sealed pouchI used to buy this exact product at the local health food store at a comparable price. However, it is much more convenient to buy the 6-pack using Subscribe & Save! The product is a laminated paper box which securely holds a vacuum-sealed plastic pouch. The pouch contains the perfect amount of fresh, natural coconut for a recipe. There is little waste compared with buying a huge jar. The texture is thick - it is really more coconut butter than coconut cream. When warm, it is the consistency of peanut butter and nothing like the watery stuff you would find in a can. The product will likely have separated when you receive it, so that there will be some hard lumps of coconut fiber and a layer of oil. No problem! Just heat up a cup of water and place the sealed pouch in the hot water. Leave for five minutes and let cool slightly, so that you don't burn yourself. While the pouch is still warm, give it a gentle massage to incorporate the oil and break up any lumps. If you are not going to use the whole package immediately in a recipe, the best way to keep the product from separating is to immediately freeze it in an ice cube tray, and transfer the cubes to a sealed plastic bag. Store in the freezer and just use what you need. I like to eat it straight out of the refrigerator or freezer, it's so good! If you are not going to freeze the product, use it up within a week because coconut does not store very long in the fridge.EDIT: I used this product to top a shortbread crust for a yummy pie or bars. Bake the shortbread crust using your favorite recipe, cool. Carefully spread a thin layer of gently warmed Organic Creamed Coconut over the finished crust, and fill with any no-bake pie filling. Serve refrigerated. The cooled coconut butter prevents the pie filling from getting the crust soggy - and is heavenly delicious. It does not even need sugar, because the unsweetened creamy layer will help offset the sweetness of the filling.5
