Order in the WinterOrder this in the Winter. I Had Never Taken Flax Seed Oil Before...Unfortunately It just occurred to me to look up how it should taste...what I found was rancidity is based on testing color, smell and taste. The product was rancid and bitter from the start, good it being rancid hasn't make sick in any way that I know of. The packaging was fine I will try this or another brand when the temperatures falls as it states...it goes rancid at a certain temperature. 2say this is one of the best combinations you can take for your bodyI mix it with cottage cheese, 2 tbsp of this flax & ever how much cottage cheese you need to get this down. I heard a Dr. say this is one of the best combinations you can take for your body. He said they have to be mixed, one is a negative, the other a positive, so they have to be combined for the awesome health benefits. Helps to heal heart, prevent strokes ,and a major cancer prevention. This was stated by a Dr. from Spain. My son, who has had heart disease, is now on this, Iam too, so i will update in 6 months on his progress. 5Terrible quality controlI bought two bottles of this oil because my wife has inoperable stage IV liver cancer and she has started the Budwig protocol as a last resort. The first bottle seemed fine and produced a golden brown oil. after about ten days the oil ran out but the bottle still felt heavy. Cutting the bottle open showed that the bottom half was a solid dark brown material with the consistency of cement. I opened the second bottle and that the oil was very thin and was very dark brown color. Although it did not have a rancid odor I felt that it was unfit to use so I disposed of both bottles. My wife's protocol has been delayed for several days while I search for a local source of good flax oil because I certainly wont buy this brand again. In her case time is short and we don't have many days to waste. Very disappointed! 1Not High Lignan because of Flax seed Settlement in BottleThe bottle instructs to shake well before using because there is so much flax sediment in the bottle. Shake as you might, the flax seed sediment will remain in the bottle when you are done with the oil, in fact, I cut the bottle open after I was done, and there was an inch and a half of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. I believe the manufacturer intended for this stuff to actually make it into the customer; however, because it doesn't, then the nutritional information on the bottle cannot be correct as the nutritional content was probably analyzed before the flax sediment settled and was evenly distributed thru the liquid. So we really have no way of knowing if the amount of lignans that go onto your spoon is actually higher than other brands. I emailed the company and sent them the pictures and they said they'd review my concern. 1Not flax seed, but Sunflower seed - disgusting tasteI returned the product. it tastes disgusting. i can;'t even brush it out with toothpaste. disgusting! Then i read and find it is full of sunflower seed oil. ughh! disgusting taste.LOT: 403465 Exp on 05/ 2019Disgusting taste. 1Good StuffI really like this. I put this in my smoothies and can't notice the taste or that it is in there at all. It is an oil so I am pleased it doesn't float up on my drinks. To be very honest in my review...I can't say I've achieved anything at all using this...only bloodwork will tell the story. The price is right, the amount is good and no taste! I take this in hopes of reducing my cholesterol levels. I've been taking a statin for about 3 years and it's lowered it but minially so I was hoping this would take it down even more without increasing the dose of my statin. Time will tell. 5Know how to use this for the best oil ever!Know how to use this! It must be stored upside down in the refrigerator and violently shaken before dispensing. That ensures that the lignan solids are evenly distributed and don't wind up a solid unpalatable mass when the bottle is seemingly empty. The lignan solids are what make this flaxseed oil so valuable. Experience has taught me this method after ignorantly ending up cutting the bottles to get to the solid lignan mass which isn't tasty. When dispensed as I recommend, this oil is superior in every regard including flavor. It's delicious! I also add freshly ground flaxseeds to meals as well. 5Not recommended: you will end up with 6 ounces of sludge at the bottomAs others have written, it is easy to end up with a big chunk of solids at the bottom of the bottle, perhaps 6 ounces. I weighed the bottle with just the sludge left in it and the gross weight including the bottle itself is 7.125 oz. I did try to shake the bottle thoroughly each time I used it, but still I am left with a bunch of sludge at the bottom. I am going to switch brands after trying two bottles of this one. 1RancidThe oil is rancid. I purchased one and it was great. The second one I purchased was bitter and odorous, which tells me the oil is rancid. I am very disappointed because usually this company produces a great product on all of their other items. I put two stars because the first bottle was fresh. I am aggravated that I have to waste time replacing the second bottle. I guess you take your chances on this brand. 2contains sunflower oilBeware. This "flax oil" contains sunflower oil, and some other non flax ingredients. This is not mentioned anywhere in the product description, and the picture of the product is so small, you can't really read the ingredients. 1
