It helped to keep the pain down while working in my yard.I wore the belt for a few hours doing yard work, and I have to say, it really helped to keep the pain away. Even later that night, no pain. But it is hard to adjust to a good fit from the back. The side would have been better. Also not soft enough for skin contact, had to ware a T shirt under it. That was not to comfortable and very hot after a while. Over all, I will use it as much as I can. 3Perfect for Naval HerniasIf you have a naval hernia, this is a must need item. Initially, my naval hernia was was about 1/2 centimeter across and eventually grew to the size of a quarter. My hernia was also obvious while wearing any shirts. Since wearing this belt, my hernia is still the size of a quarter but hasn't grown. Also, I have less of a bulge in my naval area when I am not wearing this belt. I wear this belt over my t-shirt and under my shirt. When I am wearing this belt in the prescribed fashion, it is not noticeable. It takes practice putting on this belt if you are doing this on your own. 5Excellent productHave tried many hernia belts after major abdominal surgeries (including hernia). This one is breathable, thin enough to wear under a looser shirt; I wear a T shirt under it for comfort. It doesn't roll or hit me in the ribs (female, about 5'5", 145, got a L, M probably would have been fine). Provides a lot of relief; wish I'd been advised to wear one BEFORE hernia developed. Some users object to it's closure being in the back; it can be turned around, placing closure in front. The attached pressure pad is velcro-backed and can be moved as well. It is prickly and makes the belt extremely uncomfortable to wear. 2Runs a bit smallOverall it works well, it runs a bit small although with the stretch it is tolerable. It is a bit hard to line the Velcro up so that it isn't scratching all day and also hard to do alone since it attaches in the back. Happy with it! 5Wow, what a relieve it itI had an umbilical naval hernia several years that has not been any problems. Since that time I now have two large hernias next to my naval., These developed due to surgeries I had in past years. My surgeon says I am not a candidate for surgery because of all the issues in that area. Two bulging hernias been somewhat embarrassing because of the bulge showing when wearing a shirt, I refer to them as "my twins". This belt has solved my problem completely. It is very comfortable, stays in place and hardly notice it being there. Great product. 5It is an well made piece of fabricI have a Midline Hernia which is about 3 inches long and I was hoping that I could use this item to keep the hernia from Bulging as I did sit ups at the gym... But no,,, I had to buy an additional 4 inch thick rolled up and wide Ace Bandage which I stuff in between my body and the pad on the belt and it works great........ 3
