Amazing Tool For TherapistsI'm a licensed massage therapist. At the time of this review, I've been working for about four and a half years. I regularly perform deep tissue massages and have always had a good reputation and following for my abilities. However, my hands can no longer tolerate the levels of abuse my style of working inflicts upon them. I've never wanted to work using tools, as I thought it would feel too unnatural, but nonetheless I begrudgingly ordered the Indexknobber II in hopes that I would be able to tolerate it enough to use it and preserve my hands, and thus, my career. To my surprise, this tool is not only tolerable, it is a real pleasure to use, and I am finding more and more applications for it as I become increasingly familiar and comfortable with it (I just received it and and have only performed five massages with it). I'm using it mostly for deep, penetrative work and with probably a tenth of the effort I'm able to get considerably deeper, hold points significantly longer and and release stuck areas more quickly and efficiently than ever before.I have nothing but positive things to say about this tool, but it is not for everyone. What makes a tool complicated to use, in my opinion, is that it requires the user to feel what he or she is doing through the tool, which demands a very sensitive touch sense, something which the body I occupy has been blessed with. However, not all therapists have this gift, and if this is you (and I hope you know who you are because there are a lot of you out there), this tool could be quite dangerous. Essentially, if you're a crappy therapist with your hands, this tool isn't going to up your game any, and you might hurt someone too. If you are a skilled therapist whose hands or body has take too much of a beating, I strongly urge you to consider implementing this tool into your work.5The best cheese slicer I have ever owned! It s good for doing triggerpoints, if you know what I mean, or pressure points, virtually the same thing, it s made out of plastic, it was red, it was a gift, she didn t use it, I could ve saved my money and sent her a dull pointy stick To use , it would ve been just as usefulAs always have a super fun day5As promised a deep tissue trigger point release device. ...As promised a deep tissue trigger point release device. The Indexnobber II does place, in conjunction with the angle of the hand a significant amount of pressure, on a muscle trigger point without thumb muscle tiring more quickly to release the trigger more completely. Old hands and weaker folks would benefit or for those who do more people in a message parlor.5Strong toolStrong tool but I wish that the inside part was wider because it s a bit small and can make the bones of hand feel slightly squished together but not to where it s veey bad.. if it was a wider area inside for wider grip I would give 5 stars ..4Doesn't feel good, scratches you, and no returns! As you can see in the pictures, there is a significant amount of plastic sticking up down the centerline of the massager from the production process. This amount of plastic, hard plastic, hurts when you try to use it, especially on bareskin. We also didn't think it offered much help by saving our fingers, as we had to push down pretty hard to get any significant pressure. We love the thumb massager, and recommend that one. Also, when I went to return it, it says non-returnable! I don't see anywhere on the product page where it says that. Luckily I talked to customer service and they ended up refunding me, but beware, you may not be able to.1I am a massage therapist and I do NOT recommend this productI am a massage therapist and I do NOT recommend this product. The ball on the top is way too broad and big. It s impossible to get trigger points with this thing. I practiced using it on myself and my partner. From my own experience and the feed back from my partner it is not good for massaging. The thumb feels 100% better. I would recommend finding a tool that is much sharper and smaller. This was not it! Very disappointed!1Probably Not For EveryoneThe item arrived quickly and as advertised, and the quality is fine, but for me it was not a good fit. Maybe it's more intended/effective for use by one person (physical therapist, friend, spouse, etc.) on another. But I was looking for something to use primarily on myself for trigger point therapy and muscle tension relief. I found the knob to be too rounded and large to really target certain points, and also that the actual knob was too close to the handle so I could not get as deep as I wanted before the handle part of the tool would make contact with the skin and inhibit the knob's deeper penetration into the muscle. One more note, I was informed that the item is not eligible for return... so if, like me, you're always searching for and experimenting with different options to find that perfect tool, or set of tools, to help with trigger points and pain, keep it in mind. Amazon did make an exception for me and issued a refund, which is much appreciated.3This is a great tool for massage and although I use ALL the ...This is a great tool for massage and although I use ALL the sides, I wish there was some kind of removable rubber sleeve that could be put on to help with sliding. I use BonVita Organica Gel and most of the time it's great but sometimes it feels like I'm applying too much energy with my hands trying to make sure it doesn't slip away from me and go sliding into something it shouldn't.If you found my review helpful, please click yes below. I would really appreciate it.4Saved my thumbs!I'm an amateur massager for my bf and focus on his trigger points, this thing has saved my hands! Occasionally it feels like if it was torqued with a lot of pressure it may snap though like the last massager we had..4Omg! This is a life saver for me and ...Omg! This is a life saver for me and my husband. I have chronic back pain which require really deep kneading massages and it started to hurt my husbands knuckles and thumb. This saved his hands and I get the pressure I need with this! Don't think and just get it!5
