Customer Reviews

Not cloyingly sweet, not powdery at allPure, uncut, the bomb. This stuff is delicious. Not cloyingly sweet, not powdery at all, but delicious. Makes me WANT to hydrate. Still trying to figure out the best way to transport it so that I can use it with water refills.I mix it slightly dilute (1 scoop for 25 oz water) and it's perfect for sustained hydration for those 5,6,7-hour rides.*edit: Several folks mentioned that their mix would harden. This has not been my experience, although I am very careful to make sure the bag is completely sealed after each use. The closure is quite stiff so you have to be extra attentive.5Good taste, works well for distance training rides.I am on at least my third bag of this mix. A friend suggested it a few years ago, for training. I use it in one of my bike bottles, and have a second bottle of plain water. This gives a good amount of energy and calories to keep me from getting too hungry on a long ride. It doesn't make me jittery or mess with my stomach at all. I feel like it's really balanced. Because I read a review in the beginning about it getting hard when exposed to water, I have been meticulous about keeping my scoop dry, squeezing the air out of the bag when I reseal it, and storing the bag within another ziploc style bag to protect it from moisture. I've never had a problem with it hardening on me. I'm starting to branch out and try other flavors of this, but this one is the one I can rely on to buy in bulk and have it taste and work great.5TasteyThe matcha goes well with the lemon. The taste is fairly subtle though if you follow their powder to lemon ratio (think lemon water), so if you're not one who enjoys the strong matcha flavor found in a latte you will still probably enjoy this flavor. Like all Skratch mixes the salt taste is well masked and easy on the stomach. I've found when switching back and forth between this and gatorade that the gatorade upsets my stomach, while the skratch mix does not.5Skratch Beats Tailwind!Great product! I used Heed last year for three 50K races and didn't really like it. It has a sickly sweet taste and that usually made me nauseous toward the end of long runs, not to mention the fact that it doesn't have much sodium & potassium which requires you to also take Endurolytes (also made by Hammer - go figure). After signing up for a 50 miler this year, I knew I had to find an alternative. I switched to Tailwind based on a recommendation from a friend and really liked it, except for the taste. No nausea, no cramps (good balance of electrolytes), and no need to eat too much (good fuel source). That taste is just off; it's hard to explain, maybe like water that was put into an unwashed gatorade bottle. In comes Skratch. I switched because it's what North Face uses for the ECS. It's everything that Tailwind is but with a much better taste. The Lemon/Lime actually tastes like citrus. I was a bit nervous first using it on a 25 mile run but had no issues at all. I mixed it at recommended strength and didn't notice the calorie difference from Tailwind. This will be my go-to drink for running and cycling now. Freeze your second/third/etc. bottle and it will taste even better.5TastyI really liked the taste of this product. I'm not an athlete, but I have dysautonomia and I require a fair amount of electrolytes in my diet. UNFORTUNATELY I have discovered that I have gastritis and esophagitis, and that one major exacerbation is due to citric acid, which is in every single electrolyte drink produced commercially. So I can't drink this product because it has citric acid. I'd love to see this product made without citric acid (maybe ascorbic acid only?) and in a non-citrus flavor.4FINALLY an electrolyte drink that is simple and naturalFINALLY found what I was looking for... a more natural alternative to the usual electrolyte drinks, most of which have tons of colors, sweeteners, and artificial flavors added. I'm not super fanatical about that sort of thing, but for medical reasons, I need to be drinking several of them a day, every day. So just the pure volume made me worry it would add up.This is natural, pretty much electrolytes, sugars, and fruit. And while sugar is high on the ingredient list, making it seem like there is a lot, the amount you use in water dilutes it so much, the carb/sugar level is way lower than you might think. Taste-wise, it's pretty good. The flavor is actual raspberries, and that's the dominant taste. it is just sweet enough to be drinkable, IMHO.Given that it's real sugar, and has crushed fruit, it doesn't mix as well as other powders, so do be prepared for it to look kind of sketchy, and to have to stir or shake more than other ones.Definitely going to stick with this.5Try it - you will not go back to the other stuffMy go to product for rehydration while running or working out. I was using a popular product available at the grocery store "G" and found it was making me bloated not to mention it was so sweet. I switched to skratch orange & never looked back. The flavor is very subtle but the hydration is fantastic. No weird ingredients, relatively low calories and no bloating!! Orange is my favorite, Lemons & Limes is good and Raspberry is OK but not my favorite. Skipped the Apple and Pineapple...Not for me. Green Tea is good also.5Skratch Labs products are great!Love Skratch Labs products. (My favorite flavor is Lemons + Limes.) Not TOO sweet, and no artificial flavors or sweeteners. I've been using them for about 6-7 months now for during and post long bike rides, and for after cross country skiing, or a long workout at the gym. I really feel a difference in my energy level during my workouts, and in how my body feels after. No more painful muscle cramping in my legs either after doing hours of long climbs!5I don't leave home without it!I have tried a number of other similar products (including various other flavors of Skratch) and have found that nothing satiates my thirst and re-hydrates me as well when cycling as Skratch - Lemons & Limes mix. In cooler months I usually mix it at half-strength and in hot summer months take it back to full strength in my water bottles. At about fifty cents per bottle (mixed at full strength) I find it to be a great value. I don't leave home without it!5Great taste, better than others? Not sure.I purchased skratch labs exercise hydration mix prior to a June Century ride (100) miles. Last year's ride was very hot, I consumed 9 bottles of water plus a salt pill (no cramps). This year I wanted to make sure I got enough electrolytes. I started off with a bottle of mix and brought 3 addtional measured portions with me for the 6-hour ride to mix at rest stops. Temperature was lower (thankfully) and I drank all of the mix, plus one bottle Gatorade and one bottle plain water - 7 bottles in all. Got a hamstring cramp in the left leg around 70mi, then an inner thigh cramp on the right at 88mi. I'm not sure the drink mix had anything to do with it, but it certainly wasn't a marked improvement over last year. So the jury is still out for me.4
